Investing in Technology and Bringing About Efficiency Over The Years

Back in March 2012 when Clipsal announced that it will close its Strathalbyn factory, it was a very sad day for both the company, businesses surrounding the area as well the South Australian manufacturing industry.

Fast track to 2018, the site is slowing starting to see life once again.
Treadwell Group, a fibreglass turnkey solutions provider, has been busy moving in after taking over the facility. Founded in 1994 and still headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, Treadwell has been expanding its operations in relation to its need for growth.

Although still in its early days, Treadwell fully intends to convert the factory with new technology and strategic tweaks to one that is fully functional to complement its current operations in North Plympton.

Managing Director Jon Butcher said that with growth, it is essential to keep manufacturing in South Australia.

“We have invested heavily in technology and bringing about efficiency over the years, strongly keeping our manufacturing presence a South Australian one. We are keen to not only support our business with this expansion but to support local communities and businesses around the region with it.”

That said, Sales Director Lachlan Butcher cautioned that sustainable growth needs to be paired with this acquisition.

“It is still essential that this site remains competitive and sustainable on the world map in the long run so that both internal and external shareholders, direct or indirect, can enjoy the benefits.”

Treadwell will be back with more.
